Are You My Client?
Are You My Client
My clients are people from all walks of life who need a little support working through a rough spot. I specialize in three very distinct areas; Career Coaching and Counseling, Transition Support and Women’s Empowerment. A brief explanation of each is described below.
Premarital Counseling
The institution of marriage is a very powerful dynamic in the United States. Marriage can be a supportive, loving, empowering union or it can be an oppressive, suffocating environment of confusion. The foundation for the type of union that you exist in is laid before you say, “I do!” I understand that marriage means different things for different people. My sessions are designed to allow you as a couple to define what your marriage will stand for. In six powerful sessions you will gain a clearer understanding of the roles, expectations and meanings that define your union.
Career Counseling
Career development is a lifelong process. Whether you’re trying to decide on a major of study, preparing for a first job, returning to the workplace after a period of absence or starting your own business, career decisions can be anxiety provoking and overwhelming.
My job as your counselor is to assist you in locating the resources that you need to make healthy career decisions and to help you decipher the symptoms of an unhealthy career. You should see me if you are feeling stuck, if your job is making you physically and/or emotionally ill, if you are underutilized or underemployed or if you simply don’t know what to do next. I want to help you to explore both the internal and external obstacles that are holding you back.
Transition Support
Everyone can use a little support. When transitioning roles from student to professional or employee to business owner or even thinker to doer, having a coach to assist your path is vital. The only difference between you and a professional athlete is that you lack a coach and a disciplined routine. I offer both individual and group sessions that aid you locating resources, developing a plan and achieving the results that you want.
Women’s Empowerment
A woman’s journey through life is intricate and complex and uniquely different than our male counterparts. As a feminist psychotherapist I am aware of how juggling multiple roles (mother, student, wife, employee, caregiver, etc) can be emotionally and physically taxing. It’s absolutely normal to feel overwhelmed, angry or depressed by these conditions. I can help you manage those feelings while laying the foundation for the life you want.
